Eutaw – Chris “Chip” Beeker announces his intentions to run for Public Service Commission, Place 1, in the Republican primary. Chip believes he has the experience and knowledge to fulfill the duties of the Public Service Commission and work for the advancement of the State of Alabama and its citizens. Chip says, “Public Service Commission members have an obligation to fight for fair rates for consumers while balancing the rights of the people with the responsibilities of the utilities. PSC members need to hold utilities accountable for providing attractive rates which benefit households and stimulate economic growth and development.”
Chip served on the Greene County Commission from 1986-2006. He was elected as a Republican in a historically strong Democratic county. He served as Chairman of the Greene County Commission from 1996-2006 and helped lead the county out of economic turmoil and create economic development opportunities. He also served as State of Alabama Chairman on the Commissioners Committee of Alabama Highways.
